COVID-19 - A new way of working
In response to the new world we find ourselves in we have introduced a number of new procedures to effectively manage the risk of coronavirus for our customers and ourselves, these are outlined below
We will clean the motorhome between each hire to our usual high standards but as well as this, we will be using a new sanitising process which involves misting a product called Envirosafe which has been tested on Coronavirus and has been proven to be an effective treatment against contamination. Each new hire will be certified clean with this product. We will also (wherever possible) leave 72 hours between customers in order to be certain that any virus missed by cleaning will die of naturally. A copy of the Envirosafe effectiveness certificate can be provided on request.
In order to ensure that all crockery, cutlery, pots, pans and cooking equipment is clean and uncontaminated we have purchased doubles of everything and will now supply our standard inventory in a sealed plastic crate rather than already in the drawers and kitchen cupboards. All of the contents will have been cleaned, sanitised and quarantined to ensure it is virus free. We will require customers to pack everything back into the crate when the return, this then means we can simply lift the crate out and quarantine it before cleaning everything, this greatly reduces the risk to us and our families so we appreciate you helping us with this. We can also more easily clean inside the drawers and cupboards if they are returned completely empty. Sanitised power leads and water hoses will also be supplied.
We will continue to supply mattress protectors and fitted sheets for all beds and all will be washed above 65 degrees to kill off any virus. We will supply a small plastic lidded crate and will require customers to strip all beds and put the sheets into the crate so like the kitchen equipment, we can simply quarantine it before cleaning and replace with a new laundered set for the next customer
These will now be done by video clip. Each customer will be sent a link to a series of online short videos which will show you how everything works. A copy will be available throughout your adventure and we will also supply a set on a memory stick which will allow you to remind yourself by using the on-board TV while you’re away of you need. As always, we will be available by email, phone and text if you have any issues while you’re away and our usual paper handbook will instead be provided as a pdf version to save handling potentially contaminated documents.
We are developing an online form to carry out the formal handover which you can sign on a smart phone or tablet, again, this will minimise the risk of handling contaminated papers
This will still be taken on a credit or debit card in person but we will maintain social distancing and will wear a fresh pair of surgical gloves when handling your card and the machine. Envirosafe sanitising spray will be used to further reduce the risk (this will be used on the card machine and vehicle keys)
We will do everything reasonably practicable to keep you and us safe in a way that still lets you enjoy the magic of a motorhome adventure, we hope you can help us by following these new rules.

COVID-19 Coronavirus update and new cleaning regime
In order to safeguard ourselves and our customers when we reopen following the easing of lockdown from COVID-19, we have introduced a new system of cleaning and handovers which we hope will give you confidence that we’re doing our best to help you enjoy your adventure safely
Our usual cleaning regime will be supplemented with sanitisation using Envirosafe and checked using the certified test strips to ensure sanitisation has occurred correctly. The information for Envirosafe is below and we believe it is a very good solution to ensuring the vehicle is clean for each hire. All cleaning will be don while wearing the correct PPE to prevent cross contamination.
We will supply clean crockery and cutlery with each hire which has been cleaned at temperatures over 60 degrees to ensure all viruses are killed. Similarly, we will supply mattress protectors and cover sheets which have been washed at a suitable high temperature.
Each hire will contain a large bottle of 70% alcohol hand sanitiser and cleaning materials and we would ask that customers wipe down touch points (all handles and surfaces) prior to returning to protect us when we accept the vehicle back.

LATEST NEWS: Envirosafe has now been tested to latest EN14476 Standard for Coronavirus. The independent Laboratory states "A pass to EN 14476:2013 + A2 2019 vaccinia virus enables claims for efficacy to be made against Wuhan virus". Please note that there is no test against the latest strain, and there is unlikely to be one as testing is usually done on classifications of virus rather than individual viruses themselves, even then they often have to use a surrogate as the actual virus is difficult to culture.

Each customer will receive a certificate to demonstrate that a COVID-19 clean and sanitisation has been carried out prior to handover of the vehicle
We generally do our handovers in person but since COVID-19 we now have video handovers which will be emailed (via a you tube link) to the customer to watch prior to collecting the vehicle. They will have an air of the charming amateur about them as they will be filmed by one person to maintain safety but they will cover all the necessary things you need to know in order to enjoy the motorhome experience. A copy of all the videos will be supplied on a USB memory stick which will be in the on-board TV this can be watched as a refresher while you’re away if you need.

We will still handover in person as we will need to do the final ID check and take payment for the security bond but the hour we spend showing you around can now be avoided so we minimise the risk of social contact.
This does not mean any lowering of service but things will be handled differently for the foreseeable future. We will still be on standby with telephone support while you are away so if anything is a concern, we can talk you through it as we’ve always done.
Post hire damage inspection
The normal damage inspection will not be done on return but will be conducted during the deep clean where we can carry it out wearing full PPE for our protection. Any damage will be photographed and reported to the customer as usual and then deducted from the security bond. This will mean that the return of the bond will take a couple of days longer than usual but we won’t keep it any longer than necessary. We aim to have a 72 hour quarantine period after each hire to ensure the next hire is virus free.

COVID Cancellation Policy
We are all struggling through this pandemic, trying our best to be fair in the face of daily uncertainty. To try and help we have chosen to operate in the following way:
If there is a national lockdown where leisure travel is not permitted we will offer you a free change of dates, a postponement, a credit voucher or a full refund.
If there are restrictions in the area where you live which prevents you from collecting the motorhome we will offer you a free change of dates, a postponement, a credit voucher or a full refund.
If there are restrictions in our depot area which prevent you from collecting the motorhome we will offer you a free change of dates, a postponement, a credit voucher or a full refund.
If there are local restrictions in the area you are planning on travelling to and you are unable to travel there but can travel somewhere else, we will rely on our normal cancellation policy as laid out in our terms and conditions
If you are hiring a motorhome to attend a specific event which is subsequently cancelled (for example Glastonbury or the British Grand Prix at silverstone) but you are still able to travel elsewhere, we will rely on our normal cancellation policy as laid out in our terms and conditions
Due to the increased chance of refunds being required, we can now only accept payment of hire fees by bank transfer as this saves us paying fees to take a card payment then refund it (this is around £36 per hire) in the event of a refund. We are able to refund money by bank transfer without charges so this helps us reduce our losses in the event of a hire cancellation due to COVID19. We hope you understand.
We would strongly recommend that all customers take out appropriate travel insurance at the point of booking and use that in the effect of a cancellation where some or all fees cannot be refunded.
